Shouldn't they sue the lamp-post manufacturer, too? It's a known fact that striking a lamp-post can result in injury or death and the manufacturer has yet to do anything about it.

Daughter: My dad was killed in a tragic sports car accident

Her Lawyer: Your dad was killed in a tragic sports car accident because there was a physical impossibility for the less than competent driver to defy physics...and that's why you deserve a huge settlement so I can make millions.

Our world is so disgusting and fuched up

I hope this gets thrown out. Your father died because a race driver who should've known better lost control at speed. Could've been a lot worse had he hit pedestrians. She'd be the one in the court then with people suing his estate.

"Hey Paul, maybe you should use a Carrera GT for your next F & F movie. Hop in, I'll show you what it can do".

It was not an accident, it was a wreck. It happened because a driver through deliberate and purposeful actions tried to prove he could drive like the drivers in the movie Fast & Furious and do the impossible. There are no retakes in real life and that driver lost his life and killed his passenger.

I would love to see Porsche fight the suit and win and charge her for all the legal fees. That will happen when Congress starts working for the good of the nation and solves problems instead of making them.

While she's at it, why not also sue the gubmint, for allowing a car with "flaws" to be used legally on Amurican roads?! Dear Gawd, protect us from ourselves!

Karma for all the douchebaggery that was the fast and furious wigger-rice fest.

how many parents have lost their kids to accidents caused by dumbassery behind the wheel inspired by those awful movies? should not mr. walker's estate be sued for those losses?

My brother was killed when the 75 Chevy Caprice he was riding in hit a large tree at about 100MPH.

Guess my folks should have sued GM for the car not being able to protect the passengers from that type of impact.

It's sad that she lost her dad but it is nobody's fault but the driver of the car.

Hey you guys, I feel very much the same as you,

But I'm going to stop short of calling a 16-year old girl a greedy, scum-sucking, money grubbing beyotch.

As already hinted at, it's quite likely not her idea.

Wait...you're suggesting showing restraint on an anonymous online forum? I'm sorry, that's not allowed.

Her name is Meadow Rain Walker. She is the plaintiff. She signed the papers.
She is claiming that the car was unsafe because Porsche did not install a stability management system. SHE is the one saying that this car was prone to uncontrollable swerving under power.
SHE is the one saying that the car was only going 60 mph when he lost control, instead of the real speed of 91.
This is not someone suing on her behalf, this is HER going after deep pockets.

She wants other people's money and doesn't give a **** about the difference between right and wrong, and is willing to sell her soul for money.

This is the kind of thread that attracts the usual reactionary knee-jerk responses ^^^

But... back to the real world:

A.) The car was 8 or 9 years old and had been modified (GMG?) and likely not maintained by a Porsche dealer (TBD). B.) Roger Rodas was an accomplished race driver. C.) The car was being driven at double (or more) the speed limit in a (temporarily) populated area...

The car does require total attention, as a friend (who shall remain nameless) switched off TC and inadvertently did an immediate 180 at 35MPH. It's a scary car without TC. There will likely be a lot of forensic testimony if this comes to trial. I suspect Porsche will settle with a donation to Walker's charity.
