I would short it from 9:30 to about 11, in sync with the American attention span.

Sammy, You and I need to go blast shotguns somewhere. We can paint the targets as effigies.
Get all that grumpiness out and laugh over dumb s**t. Ammo's on me.

Know what I like best about Dunkin Donuts?
Driving by without stopping. They suck. I don't understand for the life of me why they're so popular around these parts. Just upchuck-in-your-mouth-a-little terrible. Okay, back to the subject at hand... It sounds like the popo are finally getting a bit of comeuppance. After years of "protecting and serving" the public by constantly thinking they walk on water, breaking the laws they claim to uphold, treating everyone like a criminal and being glorified tax collectors for fiscally reckless municipalities people are starting to get sick of it. I'm not saying all cops are bad (or good) but there's definitely been a shift in recent years away from being able to automatically assume that the cops are always the "good guys" by default. Corruption, self-serving attitudes (enabled by the police unions), trigger-happy, paramilitary responses to minor incidents, disproportionate racial and class "enforcement" of laws and one of the highest rates of police homicide in the world contribute to this. The fact that we have too many (stupid) laws on the books that enable creation of a de facto police state these days doesn't help. When I was a kid, the cops were always the good guys and could always be counted on to selflessly protect the public from bona fide crime - no more. Here's a pointer to the LEO types out there - respect is EARNED. You're not entitled to it just because you wear a badge or a uniform. Stop treating the public like you do and reach out in a positive way to the community, do your jobs, keep people safe, care about peoples' problems and work WITH them to help solve them and we'll respect you for doing the hard job of dealing with real criminals and hard situations. When most peoples' only contact with the police is seeing them sit on their asses on the side of the road with a radar gun or "enforcing" some ricky-tack law (moneymaking scheme) like front license plates or broken taillights or whatever - and when so many seem to like to play "Rambo dress up" in tactical gear and act "hoo-rah" all the time, is it any wonder people are starting to push back and not respect you? Just something to consider. A little public perception goes a long way. Put that whole "protect and serve" thing into practice and walk the walk - it'll probably help. And as to the above - I completely agree. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. A friend of mine was shot dead at his workplace a few years ago by two out-on-parole thugs. The police eventually showed up and took pictures and wrote a nice report. I'm not saying the police can or should be everywhere all the time, but this is just one example of why we need CCW a lot more than we have out there.

Too big to fail

They're opening a new Dunkin' Donuts down the street literally this morning - there's more news crews there than at a school shooting
(too soon?)

This. And Krispy Kreme. They both suck, but for some reason people keep buying into the marketing hype.

I dumped Dumpy Donuts a long time ago.
I just can't give my money to an establishment that has an option called XXL, 9 sugars and 9 creams in a coffee...
