Another Ironhead Video

Just playing around with the old Ironhead Sportster this morning. It's a '76, right hand shift, kick start only. Rebuilt a couple of years ago with S&S rods and flywheels, Wiseco 10:1 forged pistons, Kibelwhite valves, springs, and retainers in Dan Baisely built heads, Jim's "big axle" lifters, Crane chrome money pushrods, Andrews R5 cams, S&S Super "E" carb, and Cycleshack slip-on mufflers.

Running one of my favorite local back roads after last night's heavy rains and wind. Road is still wet, with lots of leaves and pine needles. Still lots of fun:

Sweeet.
I bought a brand new one in 1976. After getting the harley parts "adjusted" I rode it coast to coast and more in a period of 10 years..
Went to Sturgis once with it.
Went to Oshkosh air show with it.
I am starting to tumble to the fact more then one bike is needed .
Thanx for the vid.

I keep thinking this local road is out by Carnation, but it looks like you go under I-5 at one point there.

Nice video. I'd be afraid of deer on that road, that's about it.

That was actually the bridge on 522 that goes over the Snohomish River, HardDrive.

Yes, there are deer on those roads, Denis. Western Washington is kinda hard on deer, though, for whatever reason. They really don't thrive here, so they are not the constant threat they are in the Midwest or something. I don't think I can remember anyone I know actually hitting one here on the "wet" side of Washington. That's a good thing... makes these kinds of early morning blasts a little less nerve wracking.

Jeff you been over to Winthrop lately? Did it survive ?
The Cascade Hwy will be for ever one of my most favorite runs.

Yes, I went over the North Cascades Highway to Winthrop (and beyond) several times over the summer. Winthrop is fine. The bigger fires were further south, like around Chelan and Wenatchee. They did not do well at all...

Alas, too far for the old Sporty, though. It's two gallon peanut tank won't get me from Marblemount to Winthrop unless I do a lot of coasting down the other side. It's more of a Road King kind of ride.
