"...and a psychedelic Porsche once owned by American rock music legend Janis Joplin."
~~~~~~~~~~ Hmm...decades ago I read that when that Porsche was ready to be picked up someone showed up and said, "I'm here to pick up the Joplin Porsche. And he did. Only thing was, he was not associated with JJ. Apparently the stolen Porsche was recovered. I guess. Unless she ordered another.
I just wonder if in the future a Ferrari owned or driven by Michael Shoemaker will have similar allure and value.
There's another one off Ferrari I just heard about - the 1953 Barchetta given to Henry Ford the Deuce during the time that Ford was trying to buy Ferrari.
I have to imagine that if that were to sell it could be worth about as much as the Fangio Ferrari? |
I know it probably won't happen but it would be nice if a car like that would find itself in a museum so countless people could view such a historic piece. In a private collection only a handful of people we ever see it. Hopefully the new owner will bring it to a Goodwood type of event so more people can see it.
Nope, not even close to a Fangio car with documented history.
