cordless leaf blowers?

anyone use them? I always thought they were a joke until I saw one in operation this morning. We need one around the house for light duty work. Great Christmas gift for my wife. She's wanted a corded one for a long time becausse she is tired of sweeping out the deck for the kids.

I have a ton of Milwaukee batteries that will fit their blower but this Stihl I saw this morning generated a lil' hurricane. Anyone know what the operation time is on them?

We have been wanting a leaf blower since we moved 2 years ago. I knew that dealing with finickly gas motors would be a huge PITA for my wife. About 3-4 months ago we bought the new cordless EGO blower and absolutely love it. Charges full in 15 minutes, has multiple speed settings and a "Turbo" option that will move small rocks. Best garden purchase ever!

I have two electric and one gas blower.

The electrics are great for garage and light duty stuff around the house, garage and stable. They are great in the role since the volume of air is so controllable. I haven't sweep a shed row in years

The gas blower is a Stihl that that has enough oomph for the big jobs.

I like my 2 stroke Echo as well. I wanted an electric so my wife could use it, but she pointed out that wasn't an option... Besides, the gas ones are the only ones with the "oomph" required to get all the beer cans out of the 911...

I don't need one that will blow a 1/2 lbs rock out of the way. Just a cordless one that will move small leaves so we she doesn't ahve to sweep the stupid deck. I have a muti-level deck that's a PITA to sweep and keep clean for the kid's play dates.

Cannot stand those GD things. I live in an old neighborhood with average sized lots and you'd think my neighbors moonlight as the ground crew for the Big House.
Get a rake and push broom (or an undocumented) and get some exercise you lazy bastages!

I have a Greenworks 40 V Li-Ion and have been very pleased with it. I recently bought my dad a greenworks pole hedge trimmer and was quite impressed with it too.
The blower moves leaves nicely but for rocks on the concrete drive it's a little lacking. It's great for getting leaves out of the flower beds. I've owned mine for about 1 year and have been happy with it. The nice thing is, it's easy for my wife to use and the batter life is good plus it has a battery charge indicator.

Operation time on mine varies obviously on how high I run it. I'm thinking 30 minutes or so on High. The nice thing about Li-Ion, the batter doesn't really fall off until it's dead.
I just looked at the Stihl and the EGO and one thing stood out to me. The EGO talks about CFM where the Stihl mentions MPH. My take is CFM is where the work is done.

I messed around with cordless for a few years and finally went and got the biggest Echo gas version. This thing kicks A$$. Have had it for three years now and always starts on the second pull and the amount of air is incredible..

A portable battery operated one would be great for that application Jeff but I'm all in on 2 cycle - in particular the now extinct Echo PB 210-E model...of which I have collected enough to sustain my needs for years to come. It's the old square bodied unit! The yellow one is a private label version for JD. I also have 2 Echo BP blowers - one of which is the original metal 400 model - a collector item for sure - which still operates, BTW.

I have the Makita 18v LXT blower. It's billed as a leaf blower but it's a bit small to do more than small leaves. I use it for blowing the water out of crevices before I dry of a car...

I have both a Craftsman electric and a Craftsman gas powered.

The electric (with cord) has far more power than the gas but the gas blower comes in handy when I need cordless, like blowing off the roof and I have sometimes brought it to work and blown off the large parking lot.

I considered rechargeable electric but they are so heavy.

I use the electric to blow off the car after washing and it reduces drying with a towel by a whole lot. I've burned myself several times with the gas powered - maybe because I'm use to the electric and then accidently grab the muffler. Or, the Craftsman gas blower is just a bad design.

Yeah, I can just picture my wife with the backpack gas blower, her work boots, with a bandanna covering up half her face.
