karma?

So who believes in karma? You do good and good things will happen? Be bad and bad things will happen?
Kinda goes against nature; opposites attract. If I am bad good should be attracted to me.

We are big into paying into our karma accounts. If nothing else, it puts an extra smile on our faces occasionally

I am a big believer in what goes around comes around. (Karma) I have seen it many times. I try to treat people the way I want to be treated.

The older I get the more I believe in Karma.
I need all the help I can get.

Karma is the only spiritual thing that has ever consistently proven itself true in my life.

Yep. It works. I don't think it is a spiritual thing. It is causal. If people have a poor attitude, it catches up with them one way or another.

Hell yeah! For me, it's a way of Life.

And I will add, I like the Culture Club song too (go ahead, take my "Man Card" away. Karma will just bring it back)

You have not lived long enough...I think? Maybe not spiritual but I MO you keep doing wrong and the wrong will find your negative karma.

Right on. As a recovering "Christian", this is the only thing left I can get my head around. Maybe that's all that Jesus was really trying to tell us, or all that the folks who made him up were really trying to tell us. Like Bill and Ted said, "be excellent to one another".

That's about the sum of what his message was...Love others as you love yourself.
'Course, if we don't love ourselves...well.........
Religiosity has bastardized his message.
Same message as other historical men have passed onto us through the times.
When it's all said and done, it's an inside job, eh boys?
.
PS - IMO, loving all others may not be possible...but accepting them as who and what they are is the key...so they say.
Acceptance can be a b_tch - is my experience.

I try to believe in karma.

But given some of the things I've done, in a karmic world, I should be dead, maimed, or someones girlfriend in a Turkish prison.

Yes, but realizing that is one of the reasons you are not. We all come to grips with those realizations; it's what we do as a result that either makes the deposits or withdrawals.

An altruistic behavior strategy is generally successful in a society where most of the individuals adhere to it. In such Environment there is also room for a small percentage of egoistic individuals that will thrive from the others. However, if that strategy grows the balance will be lost as the altruistic strategy is no longer successful.
Applied to homo sapience the definition of the term "strategy" may be interpreted in other ways than for the rest of the animal kingdom. Lets call it karma.

What definition are we using? Most people in The West don't truly understand Karma.

If we go with traditional Japanese Karma.... You could be paying for the sins of your ancestors and there's not much you can do to change that.
Western Karma. If your ex ripped you off he or she will get theirs down the track and yet so often that simply doesn't happen.

What we see as karma is often life just catching up with someone.
Don't get me wrong, Western Karma can be entertaining but I truly believe the best or truest Karma is the one which we create ourselves.

Which leads me back to... "The best Revenge is being successful"

This is absolutely true. I have seen it so many times there's no way anyone could ever convince me otherwise.

Agreed. I believe in karma, because it typically means doing the right thing and putting others before yourself. The right thing is rarely easy and often unappreciated, but it still makes you feel good inside. When I look at how lucky I am in my life, I'd say some of that goodness has come back to me.
