Nuc nuc nuc
I picked up a 5th Generation Intel NUC (Next Unit of Computing). Basically, a 4" x 4" x 1.5" PC with everything but Memory and SSD on board.
$318 for the NUC (5th Gen i5, dual core turbo) $39 for 8GB of RAM (expandable to 16GB) $88 for a 250GB M2 SSD drive Old copy of Win7 Pro (sitting around!) which will upgrade to Win 10 So $445 The unit is set to go in my conference room for Skype, presentations, etc. The quad core Google Box isn't doing it and is annoying at times... Anyone else using a NUC?

Yep, we have a bunch of them at the office, any new PC flips get those as the new standard machine, keeps things tidy.

They look like a decent low end computer, but the RAM is way too limited for our needs at work.
The last machine I put together has 128 MB or RAM and that so far is enough for the programs we run. It has only once maxed out the RAM usage. The NUC seems to aimed at just what you are doing, or home users.

My drafting machine only uses 32GB of RAM...
The NUC is going in a conference room and the unit will be stored behind the TV/Monitor.

Seriously, one fellow in our is using one because he does a lot of programing and it different locations. It has worked out really well for him and our IT folks are evaluating whether to make more use of them.

Not sure if they are NUC's but yeah, the tiny Intel computers started showing up at our museum. A little while back when we got our first one here at work, my supervisor dropped it off at my desk and said "can you tell me the operating system on this?" I hooked it up and noting... nada... I open it up. I go to my supervisor "uh... there is no hard drive."

Well, really Android box. They are basically tablets without a screen. You connect them to a TV. Connect an external mouse and keyboard. Most are WiFi. But it is ANDROID.

I'd say it sounds low end, but I'm still running a quad core box on XP64 that I put together 8 years ago now

I am typing this on a 32 bit Win XP box we bought 11 years ago. I use it for surfing the web and email mostly. It still works fine.

We use NUC's in many of our conference rooms to do the same thing (Skype for Business, PPT, etc.). Work great and hide behind the TV using a VESA mount. Slowly exchanging them for the big and messy towers we had in all our rooms.
One nice thing is that people can't screw with the cables like they always seem to do with when the PC is under the desk or in a cabinet. I hate it when you go into a room and the PC is useless since some 'smart' person decided to re-use the RJ-45/Video/KVM cables...
