If it went cheap enough, it would be fun to mount that running gear in a retro funny car, or Gasser. Run it without the nitomethane (just on alcohol), and it would have some longevity to the motor, and other components.

Agreed Wayne but, let's not forget the other side to sales of Darrell's memorabilia. It goes to help with his charitable work. Good man and one of my neighbors.

Hope it sells for top,dollar

Buy it. Let it sit. I can't think of a reason to own it other than the fact that you own it.

Car collector with a big enough wall or ceiling, might have to lose the wing.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

For someone who has everything then why not?

If you had the means you could park it with your other exotics. A bit like a life sized Match Box car collection.

And how many really valuable cars are never driven anyway?

Didn't Rick Hendricks buy that at BJ a few years back? All the money went to charity, as I recall.

Interesting that it's back.

Edit, maybe it's a different car than the one Hendricks bought.

(I'm really glad TF moved away from the little go kart wheels at the front of these behemoths.)

Says it doesn't even run.

What fun is that?

SLIGHT HIJACK: Wayne, as long as you are here, iOS9 changed naming convention for pictures from jpg to jpeg. Some posters are having issues uploading pics from mobile.

Can you add jpeg to the boards allowed mime types?

Thanks.
Scott

I see that car as having zero value to anyone who is not emotionally tied to it.

Does that dragster seem to have exceptionally loooong wheel base?
Not up on drag race history, sounds to have been pieced together from wrecked parts.
Probably good for show piece only.
Are vintage drag races happening much?

Cheers Richard

We'll have a picture of Byron sitting in it before the end of the month.
