Questions on Audio Cables for Home Theater

I am replacing my old Bose 321 with new equipment and need some advice on cabling. I purchased a Yamaha Aventage receiver and will be setting up as a 7.2 system and will be using Definative Technology speakers.

My questions:

1) Subwoofers have an "LFE" input but the amplifier states to use "Audio Pin Cable". Are these the same thing? The connections appear to be rca type connectors but since the equipment has not yet been delivered, I'm relying on the manual. These are powered subwoofers so I don't think massive cables are required. Distance from receiver will be 6' and 25'.

2) Any suggestions on decent speaker cabling? I cannot spend thousands on cables but I also don't want bargain basement either. Other threads have trashed Monster but never says why.

3) This receiver has the ability to setup zones (i.e., play in TV room as well as other rooms). I plan on also plumbing speakers to the kitchen, garage, and backyard. On my old setup, I had an output from the main stereo to another stereo that supplied the additional 3 rooms. I'm wondering if I should still go this route due to distance. Anyone have experience with this?

Any advice would be appreciated. I have about a week to get prepared for setup.

1) looks like you need a basic RCA cable for your subwoofers -- see, e.g. RCA Interconnect vs Audio Pin vs Co-axial vs Subwoofer Cable - AVS Forum | Home Theater Discussions And Reviews

2) I've never bought into the speaker cable "hype" and simply use 12 or 14 guage multistrand copper -- good to terminate (imo) to limit the effects of oxidation.

3) while you'd want to minimize the distance for any cable run, I'd think that a line level (rca cable) analog interconnect to a remote amp would be susceptible to the same issues as a long speaker run -- connecting the two amps digitally (via an hdmi, etc.) and having the remote amps perform d>a conversion would alleviate this issue but likely introduce others . . . .

Any rca, any one of the three component cables if have extra, just strip one off; composite, etc. will work for a sub.

Maybe check out FireFold for cables. Pretty good prices.

A) any RCA cable will do, try to get one with good shielding

B) try Blue jeans cable https://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/speaker/index.htm
Best bang for the buck

C) just run the speakers cables if the distance is not too long. There is a lot of wireless solutions that are affordable and less troublesome
