The only story she told specifically was how hard it was to rent an apartment when her hubby was transferred...eventually, he went alone and got a place...prior to that she'd gone to and for some reason....it was always 'just rented' even tho they were met street side by the owners to show the apartment.
They didn't move simply because of that...she's the sister of my Canadian neighbor who immigrated to Canada from Switzerland 30 plus years ago.

Well, it's certainly refreshing to see that the Japanese don't let common sense & good taste get in the way of building a fine-looking ride.

I guess it's really not that much different from the lowrider and hiphop car culture we have going on here in the US

Unlike the rest of the world Japan has negative pop growth, an elderly demographic which lives longer, and a legacy recession dating back decades.
The economic hurt has yet to come.

You should keep posting until everyone has changed their opinion, I can feel the momentum starting to work in your favour.

My uncle decided he wanted to run a marathon there (Tokyo) and when he went to pick up his number banner they interviewed him. He wasn't sure if it was for the news or a game show.

Being a bit sensitive there, aren't we? Can you please explain why you see my post as an expression of racism? I was simply pointing out that maybe we shouldn't be too quick to criticize the Japanese for their flamboyant taste in customizing...we have some pretty wild custom car trends going on right here in our own backyard. As a matter of fact, so does the Philippines with their anything-but-subtle jitneys.

OMG I never paid under $1200.

An extra grand would have bought a lot of great memories.
(and that is the whole point)

I am!Way more interested in Cuba than Japan... not that I wouldn't love Japan but I have to presume Cuba would be a lot less $$$.
