If this doesn't make you want to visit Tokyo, nothing will!

I'm headed back to Japan again soon and was poking around and came across this. Awesome production and use of GoPros.

Good Porsche, exotic and motorbike content.

The Japanese do things their way, and could really care less what anyone else thinks. I really admire that.

wait a minute - those are the bad guys from 'Cars' - they're the ones that made Mack go to sleep by blasting Kenny G and cause Lightning to end up in Radiator Springs and almost miss the Piston Cup shootout.

I see no reason to go to Tokyo after watching that video. Sorry.

One of the most valuable things I have learned from traveling and observing other cultures is tolerance. I used to be a close-minded small town boy, so I had a lot of learning to do.

I enjoy visiting Japan very much but you cannot discount the decidedly homogeneous culture. Tokyo is one of my favorite cities to visit but I'll never 'get' the anime based styling cues the current generation embraces. It's all very Las Vegas (cheap) feeling with a very childish overlay.

Cannot deny their love for cars and technology. I could do without the colored LED lights.

There are lots of good things about Japan, which is one of the most fascinating countries on the planet, but that's not one of them. Those guys are no different than the douche-bag fringe elements of our society, doing the same things over here. They are largely a clueless bunch and more or less a public nuisance.

I'd look for something else for inspiration.

Kyoto & hiking up Mt. Fuji is my reason to go. I have no desire to see rich dudes show off their wealth.

I guess you missed the stand-up wheelies, the burnouts, etc...

Can't blame you, I didn't watch all of it either...

That's a lot of custom Lambos!

If those were Ferraris, the guys from Maranello would be repossessing them - I'm not judging, just sayin'.

I've seen stories of Japanese gearheads who build vintage hotrods, like '32 and '34 Fords. They get parts off ebay and pay a bloody fortune to have those parts shipped from the US.

Watch guys drive around with their door open? Look at guys in messy shops welding on the floor instead of a workbench? Sorry, not impressed. I'd visit Tokio but not for their car culture ...

This. I've hitch-hiked across Europe and Central America. Japan is next on the list..
