Jerry Seinfeld Is Selling Some of His Porsches. No Joke

I saw this in the Wall Street Journal this morning. I'd take any one of them.

Is it just me or do those look like toy / model cars?

I wonder why he selected those particular cars.

Whoever this WSJ contributor Dan Neil is, seems to enjoy the morbid death cars. My guess he owns a collectable Ford Pinto.

"...was the type of car James Dean was driving when he was killed in 1955. So that’s kind of cool".

Any of those cars is a great toy and all of us would want them. Each of them is so valuable they could never be driven on the road like a normal car. I guess the other mega millionaires with a large museum type of collection will want them.

Beautiful cars and just crazy expensive. It is like lusting after a 100 foot Yacht or a 707.

if a 20 year old plain ol 3.6l turbo is a 350k car theses days, a 57 year old unique color, factory race prepped, 4 cam, speedster seems like a steal at 2.5 mil

Dan Neil, the author of this piece, is, I believe, still a staffer at the WSJ and is the only auto writer to ever have won the Pulitzer Prize.

Seinfeld seems to be a collector that genuinely enjoys driving his cars. Those three are relatively non-streetworthy in modern terms. Maybe he just isn't enjoying them anymore?

Making room for some others I'm sure! These ones are museum pieces more or less and probably never get driven by him. I doubt he wants another mini van backing into them like his RS did a couple years ago! It would be great if he would share his collection as well.. really only see the ones he drives and sells, but to see a documentary on his collection would be very nice. It will be fun to see what these go for though with the current market as well as his name attached to them.

I hope he gets a fortune for them. I think it's auctions like these that keep our common Porsches at a higher value.

If I had just won the $1.6bil powerball, and for some reason I felt like I had to limit myself to just one of the cars, it would be REALLY tough to choose between the 550 and the IROC car, Really, REALLY tough!

I dont think there's any doubt that will happen. I'd be curious to know what he paid for each.
