No Canadians OR BRUINS

Not one of the 7 Canadian teams will be in the playoffs this year.

M.D. Holloway 04-01-2016 08:41 PM

good! They suck at Hockey anyway...

billybek 04-01-2016 09:05 PM

We are taking our puck and going home...

M.D. Holloway 04-01-2016 09:08 PM

See, a Ranger, Bruins or Red Wings fan would have tried to kick my arse if I said that about them...!

The same thing happened in 1968, hardly new.

Meh...your Canadian players are better than our Canadian players.

M.D. Holloway 04-02-2016 06:06 AM

I used to work with an ex-hockey player, Roger Lemelin. He played for the Rockies for a couple years in the late 70's - Canadian guy. One of the nicest guys you would ever know. I guess when he was on the ice it was a different story. Anyone remember him?

Expansion and free agency providing more dispersion of the talent ever since the 60's? Not only are the Canadian teams out but they are not even close to the Wild Card brackets.

Hey Joe, how about that high stick from Duncan Keith? That's three for him?

Canada is full of ex-hockey players, some are local hero's, but often only the greatest are well known.
I looked at that guys stats, he was not a top string player and he's from a very small northern town. His career would only be remembered by his circle of friends and a few local old timers.

Not disparaging his achievements, just the way it is.

It just takes a little more to get us upset than you I guess.SmileWavy
It was looking dismal all season long for the Canadian Teams.

Calgary is undergoing (another) rebuilding phase along with the team from the north of us that shall remain nameless;). Vancouver just sucked all season long. The Leafs are, well they are the Leafs. The Habs started strong and a few injuries to a few key people took them down.
I thought the mighty Peg would do better than they did....
Ottawa showed some glimpses of promise but that was about it.

I certainly would rather watch the group of young guys that the flames have now than that same old stagnant pool of talent that were associated with Jerome.

I would have liked them to have a shot but unfortunately for us and for the Canadian networks with the broadcasting rights, there won't be a great deal of NHL playoff hockey watched north of the border. Perhaps our families will be happier though.....

1990: WHAT DOES a thread about no Canadian teams making the playoffs have to do with fans & players voting who is a dirty player???? Any excuse to be a hater?

If Marchand did that we'd be hearing "Crucify him!"

Keith has a history of meltdowns. He's about one or two more of those from getting sent to the minors. The shame of it is he's a good player.

I was thinking about this the other day. We judge a goalie and say he's not good enough to be the #1 for the team. Heck, I still wish I was good enough to have been the worst player in the NHL.

The Canucks are in total rebuild and the Sedin sisters are getting old. The Habs totally relied on Price. I don't wish injury on anyone but I cried crocodile tears when they went down in flames. Speaking of which, the Flames? They need an identity and a style. Are they offense or defense? Are they skill or brawn?

Any thoughts on whether or not the Presidents Trophy curse will plague the Caps? I've been a Chokevechkin hater for a long time but the Caps sure look strong.

Discrimination ........I'm going to sue..........wait, I don't care.

Those Flames are pretty tough on linesmen from what I hear....

Keith deserved more.

I like gin and tonic.... First few of the summer season.

Flamers are handing the Coilers their butts..... Not that it matters...

The Canadian teams missing the playoffs is not a statistical fluke. There are numerous issues that leave Canadian teams at a significant disadvantage in recruiting and keeping the best players.

Get used to it, most of the problems can't be fixed by the league.
