Sometimes people just ain't no damn good.

Losers. A pair of real neanderthals. In full view of a major, busy freeway in broad daylight.

I-84 driver spots man in brazen killing of bighorn sheep beside freeway, calls police | OregonLive.com

These animals are majestic, awesome, unbelievable. You watch them running up and down the canyon walls and are just amazed by their nimble grace and extreme power.

The 80/20 rule applies to people in general unfortunately. Most are disappointing.

No excuse.

There is a well known herd that comes down to feed right at the roadside just west of Yakima, WA. Shooting one would be like shooting one in a petting zoo. Yet, every now and then, some wannabe stops to do just that. I'm sure these clowns spend the rest of their days bragging to equally clueless buddies about how they scaled Denali to bag their "trophy"...

I would have a hard time not shooting someone I caught doing this...

Not sure what the hunting rules are, so I'll abstain from condemning anyway with my blindness.

Hmm... I feel the same about almost any hunting, deer, big game, or even bull fighting, yet that is perfectly legal in many areas or the country/world... "rules of hunting" are a little one sided, I'm pretty sure the animals have no clue ;-) So in this case it's inhumane and newsworthy because they are protected? Sounds a bit arbitrary... I'm all for a fair fight. Go hunt with a small knife instead.. Go sheep ! go bull ! Go deer ! bar, especially bear !!

It's unfortunate that most people get their education and information of wildlife resource management from Disney cartoons.

and the rest from the walking dead, apparently ;-)

I think you missed my point or I did not make it right. Deep down, I don't really give a fig who hunts what for what reasons (overpopulation, sport or whatever). I'm just mildly amused that the above is a big no-no, but doing the exact same thing to a deer is perfectly OK any given sunday. I assumed we were talking about the killing methods here, not population control...

The BHS population is small; it's a VERY BIG DEAL for the lucky lottery winners who bag a tag.

Deer, on the other hand, are rodents. The deer population needs to be controlled to mitigate the damage that they do.

And, most importantly, game seasons are either open or closed. The animal in question was poached without a tag by a couple of low life dooshnuggets for whom the rules don't seem to apply.

I just assumed that you were taking an anti-hunting stance and painting with a broad brush, my apologies.

People don't realize the contribution to wildlife management through hunting and fishing license fees. some of the biggest conservationists are hunters, on the flip side some of the biggest cheaters poachers/ are hunters.

We have game rules, seasons and limits for a reason. "Thinning the herd" is beneficial in most cases, but when it comes to moose, bears and bighorn sheep there are quotas for a reason. i feel the poaching laws aren't anywhere severe enough in this day and age. Just taking a WAG, but I'm sure the penalty for this is something like $1,000 fine, 2 days in jail and loss of hunting privileges for 3 years.
