Ford Sold More Mustangs Than Porsche Sold 911s In Germany Last Month

It turns out German car buyers dig the new Ford Mustang. Really dig it, in fact. According to Autoblog, last month Ford shifted 780 of the things in the country, beating both the Porsche 911 (752 units) and the Audi TT (708 units) on home turf.

It’s not like the Mustang is a cheaper car than the TT in Germany either - as Autoblog points out, the starting price for the Ecoboost Mustang is actually higher than the cheapest TT. And as a bonus, the muscle car also beat the Boxster and Cayman last month, with Porsche selling a combined 642 units.

So, given the choice, what would you have: an Audi TT, a Porsche Cayman/Boxster, or a Ford Mustang?

I like the new Mustang. I think I would still rather have a Cayman S.

Me too, but then I'd regret by day 3 after the novelty of the power wore off... Then I'd trade for the Cayman S - the new one is so beautiful (the one just before the 718)

Many in Europe, AU and the UK idolize us in the US and our way of life. We don't deserve it, but it exits; thanks to television........

There's a lot of douchebags in Germany... Why is this surprising?

My first car was a '73 Mustang Mach 1 with a 351C. I loved that car....it was a great car to "park" and watch the submarine races. The GT350R is much more than a "novelty". Some you reek of snobbery!

I can assume that in Germany, things like the mustang are a bit "exotic", and the fact that they are pretty decent performers these days probably helps a bunch.

I'm curious about them. If I could get the right one, I would probably take one, but I don't want anything base. I would want one of the really good ones.

Even then, I'd probably prefer a Porsche. I'm sure that if I had $30k, $50k, $70k or $90k to spend on a car, I could probably find any manner of Porsches to spend it on.

^^. Yep, mustangs are American exotics there.

My now Ex's brother in Munich shipped a 66 mustang over to do a restoration on.

I'd certainly chose a cayman S myself.

Cheers Richard
