I just became a "Mustang guy" when I picked up a 2004 convertible GT (although I have had 3 others over the years). I will be going to the "Spingwarmup" at the Norwalk Ohio, Summit Motorsportspark on Saturday to get my aggression out on a track.

These fools have too much horsepower, and not enough restraint to endanger bystanders like that.

Wtf is wrong with these morons? We had a Mustang crash into a crowd while launching in a street race here last year that killed someone and injured others. It's almost uncanny how many of these there are. :eek:

Mustang owners just don't know how to lift. Plain and simple.

The photos were funny, but those videos are scary! What a bunch of morons. I can only guess they have watched all the Fast and Furious movies and thought that was real and an excellent way to learn to drive.

This is a serious question as I've never owned a car like a Mustang but how are they supposed to lift? Do they lift once it is pointed in the right direction and not the second it veers off? Like I said, serious question as I don't know.

once it gets too sideways, use the old PCA DE rule of both feet down (clutch and brake).

The problem is when you try to save one of these cars after it is too far out of shape and under to much momentum.

Nothing special about Mustangs handling. Stop applying power and apply the brakes.

Lots of horsepower + testicles on board + lack of understanding of physics = pure comedy gold.

the lift for me would be to push in the clutch just before the tires hook and shock the drivetrain.

actually thats what gets them into trouble, they lift, which causes the car to snap back the other way. when they suddenly lift off while the wheel is counter steering, the rear re-gains grip, and flips around, and there is no way you can unwind the wheel fast enough to catch it, and you spin.

what you need to do is steer out, and SLOWLY reduce throttle input. every instinct in your body is telling you to lift, but you have to first control the slip angle, and then slowly lift off.

Mustangs are still the favored joke in the office. We were discussing a problem vendor today and I said, "lets send a mustang over to straighten it out" Thought our director of ops was going to fall out of his chair!

Most of them are only going 20mph! They should be able to stop on a dime, but their bro-hats and their oversized novelty sunglasses and the 45 ounce Monster Energy Drink they shoved between their thighs before hammering the loud pedal prevent them from finding the brake pedal.

Those are not the actions of someone desperately trying to stop a vehicle before crashing into people, those are the actions of someone trying to throttle out and drive away quickly because there is a cop sitting 10 feet away watching. Lots of those guys leaving the C&C events after burning out are running for the freeway, because they're going to get busted otherwise. They either end up crammed against a tree, or driving down the street at 3 times the speed limit then slamming around the first turn they can find.

This was the Houston event after it started getting too big but before it had cops at every exit controlling things. It was 15-20 minutes of people spinning tires as they left, sometimes getting loose next to each other, sometimes getting loose next to random innocent cars on the feeder road...
