Tebow. He can play
At the conclusion of his college career, he held the Southeastern Conference's all-time records in both career passing efficiency and total rushing touchdowns, appearing second and tenth (respectively) in the NCAA record book in these categories. As a member of the Denver Broncos, he started the last three games of his rookie season and became the team's full-time starting quarterback beginning in the sixth game of 2011. The Broncos were 1–4 before he became the starter, but began winning with him on the field, often coming from behind late in the fourth quarter, until they won their first AFC West title and first playoff game since 2005, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime. Johnny M. was a transcendent college football talent with Ryan Leaf's mental acumen. Manziel's claim to fame is that he will have a drink named after him: The Cerebral Flameout.

I don't often cheer when someone just self destructs like Johnny Football. I have never met him and I sure have not followed his "career" but it was heart warming to see him just piss away his talent. From the stories I have seen he is a total douchebag.
Tebow has real talent and a lot of people got bent out of shape because he has his own personal convictions and refuses to drop to the level of the average professional ball player thug. I have to respect his convictions. I not not respect Johnny Football except as an what to avoid in life.

No such thing. Therefore:
Manziel. When he ultimately crashes and burns you won't feel sorry for him.

Tebow won't embarrass you and is a far better team guy.

If Tebow was a decent QB he would be playing.

No brainer.
Tebow. I'm not convinced Manziel is that much better than Tebow but for sake of argument let's say that he is. Tebow will show up for every practice and work his butt off. He'll show up at every team meeting, on time. He'll be at every game as prepared as one could possibly be. The guy will give you 100% 100% of the time. He won't cause problems in the locker room. Manziel? Not so much. The guy has shown he has way more downside than up. Pass.

I'm going to go against the grain. Since my job is to win games, I have to go with a QB that can do all the QB things that need to be done. Tebow just isn't that great of a QB. He has won some games on pure pluck, and that's great, but his skills aren't at the NFL level. Johnny Football has the QB skills, and then some. But fixing his head is the big project. If my goal is to win games, the chance is greater in the long run with Manziel. But I'm not going far with Tebow, not matter how much I like him as a person. I would really love it if Tebow bulked up a little and played the game as a tight end. I think he'd have a long career doing that.

You can be 100% sure Tebow will be sober for games. And even practices.

Being a long time Cleveland Browns fan, I have already dealt with the embarresment, and shame that is Jonny Manziel, I am done with him, and somebody else can try to keep him sober, and out of the media spotlight.
Tim Tebow, I believe, still has the talent to compete in the NFL, he is just misunderstood from his convictions. I would honestly think he has a place on a team somewhere, if the surrounding players supported him. |

My guess is you lose with either, but you get fired for picking Manziel.

The NFL is full of elite talent. A less talented guy who puts in the work during the week is going to get you farther than a guy who thinks showing up on Sunday and throwing the ball well for 15 minutes is going to get it done.

Neither. I'd rather tank the season and see what you get the next year.
IIRC, Tebow can't throw at a decent clip. He needs to land with a team that has championship caliber defense and be a game manager a la Trent Dilfer. |
