Arnold and the 182nd AW
Here are a couple more fun photos from 7/4/2003
Arnold Schwarzenegger (before he became Governor of CA) came into “town” to visit the troops. He brought gym equipment to Quatar for the troops to use. He then got airlifted by the 182nd AW from Peoria IL to Iraq where he did a USO show. Unfortunately, I didn’t get on that flight but Doc “Feel” Good was there and he got these photos. The last group photo was one of us passing the time a couple of days later. Dr. Angles (“pictured” in the grass skirt) constantly left her BDU blouse top behind, so we decided to have some fun and dressed it up and hung it 15 feet in the air from the tent supports. Her favorite expression was “This is way wrong!” Hence the sign. Being 5’4” she had a hell of a time getting it back down. . . It might seem stupid now but at the time we thought it was hilarious. All of our medics were top notch, but THANK GOD we had professionals like Doctors Good and Angles for our troops. They were worth their weight in gold. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Happy 4th everyone!
Are any of you noticing less fireworks being set off around you? I haven’t heard too many and this last weekend was pretty quiet Here in MN the flying blow up types are illegal, but that usually doesn’t stop it sounding like a war zone. I’m sitting a previous foster dog for two weeks and when I had him, he wasn’t bothered by load noises, so I hope that is still the case and that the skies are fairly quiet. I wonder if higher prices and tariffs have made a dent in people’s purchases? I live in a middle class and retirement type of area.
