Japanese summers are much hotter than back in NYC. It will be 90-100 and very humid for the next two months. The rest of the seasons are pretty pleasant. Winters are mild here. Japanese split system AC are very good. But their winterization and heating are lacking, which is why we put in a wood stove. Winter is nice and cozy now.

We've been getting it also, high 80's , with 2000 % humidity. I like it hot, but like stated above, I am wiped out at the end of the day .

I live a few miles from Stomach Monkey My neighbor was all excited when I got home because one of the big party deck boats that dock near my home was blown into shallow water and grounded by the winds. They offloaded the passengers and she housed them in her garage till the storm blew over.

The storm truly did come out of nowhere.

Go ahead. Tell me "but it's a dry heat"

I'm not a big ice cube user but this morning decided to start using them to give myself an edge....

I feel like I'm in "survival mode" in every aspect of my routine.

Work as much in the mornings...try to schedule projects according to available shade (as the sun traverses the sky)......knock off at a certain time and allow whatever time is necessary for body temps to go back down. Especially the head. I'll also go sit in my truck with windows up and AC on for a little bit to let body temp drop a bit.

When we get rain events...it does help. Not the quick showers...but a nice several hour event...or half-day. Overcast and lower temps.....but sometimes you don't get rain for quite a few days.

Glad I'm not the only wuss here!

It was about 110 in Phoenix yesterday (little above average) but felt like it was about 95-98 because (sorry, going to say it) it's a dry heat. Bone dry yesterday. This is the time of year where the humidity will notch up so sometimes it can be hot and humid. But not Gulf Coast sticky...

Went for a bike ride this am when it was cooler, about 77 where I am. Just waiting for October through early May when the weather is fantastic.

Cloudy, drizzle now & then...65 or so. Chilly enough that Cindy built a small fire in the woodstove...

Here in Charleston I remember 2012 being worse. The heat index would get well into the 120s, highest I saw it get was 128. This year I think it's been merely 115.

I have hit my limit this year, and it's lower than it was just a few years ago. 2011 was the worst, 61 days in a row over 100 degrees, but it feels worse now and we've only had 4 days over 100. The humidity is higher.

A couple of weeks back, I was qualifying for the Olympics and heat exhaustion set in. It wouldn't have taken much more time for a heat stroke to wipe me out.

Be careful out there.
