We have been adopted by a few local strays, one of which we've fixed and everything, she lives in our yard pretty much exclusively, sits on our laps, etc.
We're moving. Like, a mile away.
Do we take the one particularly connected stray? Do we take them all (one or two others, and 2 kittens)? Not take any? The others travel the block a bit more, they'll probably be fine without us, but even they come running down the street for dinner when one of us comes home from work.
Has anyone transported a stray to a new house and got it to stay? We don't want to bring her along only to have her immediately run away trying to find her old home, but we also can't assume that whatever renter moves in will take care of any of them.

I didn't follow up on this. We brought the one kitty with us (a bit of hissing, a bit of blood...). Locked her in the garage for 2 days, then opened the garage and she stayed hiding in there 2 more days (found her sleeping on the passenger seat of the 911...)
Now, she roams the yard scaring off other cats and sitting on all of the patio furniture. no signs of wanting to leave, perfectly content here. So, we're all still one big happy family.
Oh, my two indoor cars ADORE the new house, and have already lost weight because they're adventuring, playing and fighting more than before.
