That's a most excellent brown paper bag.
Cat's thinking "Imagine if a mouse strolled past not knowing I was here ready to launch the most amazing ambush." |

I once had a bunch of boxes ranging from big to small
+ my Big dude Boris and Little girl Jackie. Jackie would always be the first to spot a new box and jump in Boris would always steal her box. LET THE GAMES BEGIN put big box Jackie goes in 2 minutes later Boris steals box put smaller box next to big box Jackie goes in 2 minutes later you guessed it Boris steals box kept it up till I had his dumb ass sit in a box just about big enough just for his butt and no way to be comfortable...(Jackie was, but only just) Looking all confused, "hey how why did this just happen." It was generally better to have 2 boxes of equal size in front of a lit stove http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1629467664.jpg |

Dammit. She went missing for several days, we had resigned ourselves to accepting her death. She just showed back up, missing an eye :( and too skittish to catch right now. EDIT: NOT missing an eye! What looked like a closed eye socket and viscera hanging out was just a bunch of goop stuck to her, she appeared this morning looking cleaned up. I think she got into the garage and might have been stuck in there for a few days, which woulda sucked in this heat. |
What an emotional day..I feel like I have had the crap beat out of me..
First RIP Miss Star Tsang. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631654526.jpg This little one passed earlier today.. I got a call from my friend Em at around 8 this morning, she said Star was crying and could barely stand on her back legs.. Star is a Russian Blue.. not a vocal cat at all..at about 8:30 Em called me again, and I could tell she was falling apart... I bailed from work and drove to her place, packed the cat in a carrier, and Emmy into her car.. off to the vet... Star evidently had some strokes and had blood clots in her lungs, and back legs.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631654780.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631654780.jpg Treatment would be iffy, and with a questionable outcome.. So that incredibly hard decision was made.. Em and Star http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631654961.jpg Star just before the vet sent her on her way.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631655046.jpg Em is someone I admire a great deal.. She emigrated from China alone, learned English, put herself through nursing school, became an RN, and is one of the strongest people I know.. She could kick Tiger Moms ass... And she lost her **** today and fell apart.. |
Sorry to hear the news, Tim. Russian blues are beautiful.

When pets go, they go hard. Part of being predators and hiding pain.
We humans, however, show our pain very easily, especially when our pets go. We suck at being predators, but we kick ass at being pet-parents. They take advantage of us because of that...but they still love and depend on us. |
Along Came Polly.....
Yeah, it was a movie with Ben Stiller and Jennifer Anniston. The "spank" scene was epic. And now I've got my own version of "Along Came Polly". The cross the street neighbors moved out about 2 months ago when they sold the house to a rental outfit. They had several cats. My cat, Mr. Silver, a 10 year old fixed tom that is very sociable would hang out with the neighbors cats. Actually he weighs in about 19 pounds, so since they've gone the local Cat Golden Corral has been closed. But they left a cat they couldn't catch. I've been putting out food and finally now the cat has gained my trust and actually shows some sociability. Young, tall, thin, mostly white tan on the back mottled black and white face ice blue eyes, stub of a tail and......this cat has at least 6 toes on each front paw! A "Polydactyl"! I've never seen anything like this. I'm thinking of trying to contact the former owner see if they want to come get their cat, if not, at least find out if it's been to the vet for anything before I adopt "Polly" or "Paulie". :D |
Boy and girl Thai Burmese at the vet for their first check-up and distemper shots. They are 10 weeks old in this picture. They go back in a couple weeks to get their rabies and the 2nd distemper booster.

We were in Maine last week at an Air BnB, and ~1:30am this little guy woke we up. He'd come in through the window and climbed onto the bed next to me.
