Baz, now that you've bought some time, keep a watch out on Slick Deals website.

I was never a dell fan, used to build my own, until we bought all new dells for the office, win xp, about 10 years ago, with a dell server. All were still running when we shut down 8 years later.

Like Steve (mausram) I look at the scratch & dent store, or slick deals when I need new hardware.

Download Mint iso and burn to DVD or make a USB drive from it, give it a whirl. Or if you are buying, how about a super small form factor fanless box with a 5 year warranty with Mint preinstalled for $300-600?

It's a huge letdown.

On purpose...and with vindictiveness.

To the consumer/average person/non-programmers/elderly/young/anyone else.
To small business.
To the economy in general.
