Pics please.

There's an important piece of information missing from this thread; that being whether this soon-to-be-single girl is hot.

I have considered selling the 930 and a kit car was one option of a new "toy"
looked at factory five

I would consider this one if the 64k included engine and tranny.
not sure about the Porsche tranny. anything with Porsche on it triples the price.
look at that LS7, 13k! that might be parts to rebuild the 930.

did that include a paint job on the body?

Why not a 917 replica or a 962?

You can get them with a 500hp plant second hand for around that.

The $13k motor is 1,000+ HP. Good for 0-60 in 2.3 seconds.

They don't need paint, it's colored gel coat.

I did a spec out price on the superlite SC-2, about $50K plus engine and trans. Just a basic stock LS2 and a flipped G50 could likely be done for $65K.
It is a pretty complete kit but the above price didn't have many upgrades other than AC. About 400 hours build time.
The chassis is aluminum, hence the Superlite name. About the same weight as a 914, 2200lbs.

BTW it's gelcoat, so as long as you want one basic color then yes, it's painted.
Also it will fit a person up to 6'-4" but only if your butt is no bigger than 17".

Here's a whole series on how to build.

hmmm....so that looks like a track toy.

and if i'm buying a track toy i'm thinking it might as well be open so you don't sweat your arse off.

maybe start Spec Racer Ford to get some track time in and see how it feels.

What's with the goofy looking rear view mirrors, when will builders put in rear view cameras and a conviently placed screen just below the sight line of the driver?

Is there a reason not to do so?

Man that blue car above sure looks better with the headlight covers.

Cheers Richard

If you want retro and small, there is always this. 300hp would go a long ways in a 1700lb car.

with a gel coat, would you take it to a boat repair shop for body work?

I usta let selected folks drive my 914 AXer.....but only guys I figured would out run me.
Only one selectee didn't.

The car was built as bullet proof as I could manage. It was also a National Tour class winner in XP/E mod & would get your attention.

Good old days.

I think the f-car motor would kill the maintenance budget.

For a street legal fun car I'd source a Palatov substructure and drivetrain (see above) and put a rusted Pinto or Vega body on it. The ultimate sleeper.... now that would be fun...
