In emergencies people would plug the tire and come in for a proper repair we would remove the plug and patch the tire. Never had an issue with an inside patch that was installed properly. Additionally run flats should be replaced and never patched or plugged.
Correct

Uniroyal, BFG, stay away. Owned by Michelin now, but not the same quality tire.

The BFG Radial TA has never been a quality tire. It was all I could find for it all those years ago.

We have BFG g-Force Comp 2 A/S tires on the sedan and they were so much better than the Goodyears we bought another set for it when the first wore out.

For my El Camino, there was ONLY the BFG Radial TA tire for many years in the 15 inch wheel size I need. Now Cooper makes a tire of the right size. I had worn out numerous sets of the BFG Radial TA. They only last 25,000 to 30,000 miles at the most. I have never had a problem at all except flats and all tires will go flat with a nail in them.

I had to go to 15s because the 14s just vanished.

I love Uniroyal tiger paw tires as a budget tire for run of the mill passenger cars. They wear great, are smooth, never cup or break belts etc. What have you seen with them . I've been selling them like mad for 10 years, and used them on all our daily cars . I don't think I have ever seen a defect, or a tire that wore prematurely

I plugged a rear tire last night.
Checked the plugged tire today.
It still read 36, so the plug seems to be holding.
Went for a nice drive.
