Maybe as I move forward to my own engine I should seek your advice and start a "how to build my big hotrod 6" thread?

If you were doing a Chrysler flathead I could help you out. But - "as I move forward to my own engine" - isn't that your truck and your engine? I'm confused.

my 46 chevy truck project has corvette rear, mustang II type front suspension and 4 wheel discs. currently a 283/350 auto in it but I have a 454/400 sitting in the shop and getting a good deal on a Lt1 crate/700r4 soon so that may change

I like how the ballon tires pick up the curves in the fenders and the strakes on the wheels tie in to the grill slits.
That's where people can never agree on which wheels go on an a fleet side Apache. There are already too many competing things going on with the body, let alone the wheels. I can't look at other trucks for inspiration, I have to look at cadillacs. The early trucks like yours are more forgiving in that they steer you easily towards what works. I love it! ( and I love that your truck, built before there were highways is getting gearing suspension and power to survive on today's roads.)

For those who fear what my blue truck is going to be influenced by, the answer is rock and roll!

Influenced, not replicated.
A little tooled leather inlay on the door panels would be nice on an old truck

That is because you can't see the entire car in that picture. Don't forget that the marathon is today if you go to the coffee thing. Dog is yipping to go, maybe I will see you over there

I have ZERO interest in this light blue truck.
But love the dark blue one...although I WOULD take either one of those cars! ( but that's the great thing about this hobby, aside from preferences you and I can still have something in common) ![]() ![]()

Different strokes I guess. The '57 Cameo is the third year for the "stylish" pickup. The Cameo introduced a whole new concept in mainstream pickups and evolved into the El Camino. They were practically hand made. It's iconic.

I really like Bruce's '60 Vette.
I never really gave them much notice, but what a cool looking roadster! I would love to see a '60 Vette in the same blue color as Wayner's truck.
