Elissa Just Got Another Call For Transplant
This is call #2 for her CF related double lung transplant........1 week ago today we got our first call which was a dry run due to the left donor lung being damaged. The donor is brain dead and is a perfect match for Elissa. We have to be at the hospital at 6:00 am. It is kinda hard to be happy right now knowing what the other family is going through.

understandable..
but the other family is being strong.. I've watched a harvest.. then we did the organ run..with 4 small jets waiting.. folks are very considerate, respectful of the donor.. Wishing Elissa and your family.. the very best Christmas ever.. Rika |

Gary, In many cases the donor's family gets some sense of relief that the organs are helping another family. In a way, part of the donor lives on, right?
