Did you see Hoovies youtube on selling his 65?

Add'l MB thread drift-Roy Orbison's 600 is on BAT, very clean. Same seller that sold Elvis's last month, a collector from Bucks County Pa who is donating the proceeds from both cars to his food insecurity charity. A little Google reveals who he is, the real deal, and has already donated a housing facility in Philly.
You have an R129 SL600? If so I’m seriously jealous. I love the R129 and want one badly.

We should talk...
Come down to Va and drive it, anytime you wish. It doesn't get enough use.I had to delete the ads, unfortunately, but its still a great car. Honestly, the c140 is a better all around vehicle but the r129 is the perfect summer "I'm going to the winery" car. It is not nearly as sporty as your sl, but it has a certain way of going, its ideal for a brisk but refined mountain drive.

Yep. But they won a green award for it. Beat out the prius.

I repaired the side mirror wires by slipping clear heat-shrink tube over the damaged ends. That kept the color coding.

Yes, the AC works well. (Touch wood)

Honestly, the biggest problem I have right now is: What do I replace this car with when it finally dies?

I have always liked these as well. Except the pink tail lights. I am a little confused because I thought you were looking at the black car? That aside;

you made this mess

Look like this? WOW

After driving an SL65 I have felt like I need a V12 in my life I think the R129 is an all time classic design and need to drive one, I have heard that they aren’t as sporty as the R230. More a cruiser than the borderline supercar GT that is my SL63. But if I’m being honest, most of my driving is highway anyway.

They're not. And honestly, for highway top up, the 230 is superior, because the hardtop on the 129 is a pain unless you have a lift, and even then...and the soft top, while a good soft top, isn't as silent as an MB deserves. But top down, yeah.
Now is the time, as the values are jumping. Mine was only 7500 3 years ago, with 90k, out of LA, and didn't need much, just a fan. Probably a 12-15k car now. Its not perfect as the lower bumper needs some love, but its otherwise clean.

Yeah I know, the R230 will probably be the next car that appreciates beyond my budget before I buy one. I’m currently looking for a bigger boat, trying to prioritize family fun while my kids are still at home. Depending on price that might prompt selling my R230 as it’s an extra car for me. So I’d love to be a buyer but don’t see that happening for a while. I’ll probably be buying a cheap W140 too!

I was looking at the black car but the owner was rude and arrogant so I kept looking. The car I bought was from an older gentleman who lived in the country. He was retired and wanted to move to The Philippines so he needed the S420 gone.

I found these mats on Ebay from a seller in Germany. Not sure yet but I may make him an offer.

The Pimp hat of car mats? ... lol

So with everything else going on right now I had some time today to start rebuilding the loom. I've got some high temp silicone jacketed wires ready to go. This is the plug that plugs in just above the exhaust pipes in the floor. There's a tin shield between this and the exhaust pipe. The central part is plastic. The outside rubber... (It's a lot easier than it looks)

Peter - I recently refinished these wheels for a friend's C140, they are the rare AMG Aeros built by BBS for MB and designed for the 140 Chassis. They really transformed the look of his car. Something to consider if you wanted to switch-up the look on your car.

Before on the left.

Wow... They're rather nice. Anything AMG in Aus is stupid money.

Looks like a fire hazard to me.

My car was built in 1992 so most of the components are date marked 1991.

Most of this wiring loom hugs the engine. And yes it could cause a fire for sure but the only issue I had was a flaky oil gauge. It would work fine initially but when the car was fully warmed up the needle would start to dance up and down. The rest of the wiring throughout the car is fine and as mentioned before I changed the upper main engine harness soon after I bought the car. FWIW: There was a court case started by North American customers vs MB about this issue with the early 90s cars however as far as I know it never went anywhere.

Here's another pic of what I'm dealing with. Note the silver plated pins to the left. These simply slid out once I had cut the plug open.
