tomorrow the shoe goes on the other foot

I leave for Minneapolis tomorrow at 0300. My youngest daughter will have a muscle biopsy and 4 hours of corrective foot and ankle surgery--all of which has been a long time in the making. It's going to be a **** day for all of us followed by 3-4 days of hospitalization for monitoring and pain control. For various reasons, working in surgery for a living does not make it easier (seems counter-intuitive) but will hopefully be another step toward a diagnosis and better walking. Please keep Autumn in your thoughts.

Well wishes sent your way, especially for Autumn, I think dad may need it more. I am constantly reading stories like yours and know I am being a part of making many lives better, I am a Chive Charities Green Member and have been for almost 3 years now. Good luck! Try to get some sleep.

You are both in our thoughts. Hard to go through but I am sure you all have thought about it a lot.

More positive vibes. You didn't mention your daughter's age. Hopefully old enough to understand what's going on and why.

Drs should try to step well back when their loved ones are getting serious treatment, just too much going on inside. Wishing the best for Autumn, and that Dad can make it thru ok too. Cheers Richard
