In all fairness, that should have been up against a 911 turbo.

675HP for just shy of $40K with a warranty is impressive. When I was in HS, the Fox body GT was at 225HP and the IROC-Z was about the same, IIRC. At some point, putting so much HP in the the hands of the ill-equipped becomes a bad idea.

Don't know why they do comparisons of such different cars, mix in a Camero and a Dodge with with the same HP and it would be interesting.

Kentucky public roads with a Brit in a fast car hot dogging it with another amateur.

What could go wrong?

They are just lucky nobody got hurt and they still have their driving licenses.

Not a fair comparison as mentioned, and where were the curves as mentioned.

Somewhat entertaining.

I hooked up my large monitor and remote speakers expecting a bit more than what I got.

Why?

The P-car in the video cost more than twice that of the Mustang even after the mods.

I agree...there should have been a well set up 944 in the mix.

Gawd, don't take it so seriously. I mean, it's not really all that important.

My customer/buddy has a 800hp Mustang & Porsche 911 turbo S which will get a 925hp kit next oil change direct from Porsche dealer. I driven both. Like both. Can't wait to drive the S with the kit..

There is a video of this against a modified 911 Turbo. Of course, you won't see that posted on the Mustang forums...

That Prius had no idea how bad it lost that first race.

It's all in good fun. The domestic fans love pitting the straight-line acceleration of their drag race based 'Mericun iron against those "durn furrin cars'", and the fans of foreign sports cars love to deride the handling of American muscle cars. Both have their places in our wonderful hobby. I've owned both, currently own the latter, but am pining for my younger days in the former. I could do with a nice Hemi Roadrunner...

Because of it's flat torque curve, I don't downshift my Mustang often. But when I do, it's next to a prius so it's driver can hear me destroy the planet...

i'd rather debate the wood choices of a custom pool cue.

I love both Porsches and Mustangs, but I can't afford either one of the cars in the vidoe currently. I'm surprised how the 911 did stay with the Ford through the lower gears.

The C4 S...all wheels getting traction while the Mustang didn't begin to get all it's power to the ground until around 100 mph or so. There's a learning curve to driving one of today's mega power pony cars. As evidenced in cars & coffee videos, some people don't learn it well. That, and low skill drivers in both cars.

Gee, it does seem to get under the skin of the Porsche set that Mustangs can go faster in a straight line, and handle the twisties as well. A Mustang 350GTR has bested the Laguna Seca lap time of the Porsche GT3. But like I said, all in fun. My driving is on crowded roads from home to my favorite pool hall & back home. Any car made couldn't make that run much faster than a Camry because of traffic.

Vash, there are many discussions about woods used in pool cues. Not only the aesthetics but the feel of the hit. Depends on whether you want a playing cue, a collector cue, or both. For you? Head to Wal-Mart, buy the cheapest one on the rack. You probably couldn't tell the difference between it and a fine custom...
