Golf....yelling...'splain it to me...

So I'm not into golf...at all , but turned on the tube and am watching the end of a PGA tourney going on just a few miles from my house. What's with these azzholes yelling "get in the hole" on every damn shot...'splain it to me Lucy....

Many people have been talking to their balls for a long time. If you played golf you might understand....

Lived on a golf course growing up, lots and lots of yelling. We were right on the tee so a lot of errant balls were screamed at.

It is NOT the only part of watching other people play a game that makes. I don't understand the fascination with watching anyone play a game. Be it Poker, chess, baseball or football. Soccer has to the the worst. Lots of running around and no scoring. One guy brushes close to another and then falls to the ground like he has been stabbed.

But millions of people pay a lot of money to watch other people play games. It is big business and millions are charged and made.

I understand NOTHING about soccer, so I don't watch, ever, and I don't complain about it either. I do understand golf, and occasionally watch to see the beautiful courses, and see some amazing shots.

Hey....I never said I didn't talk to MY balls...what's golf got to do with that ?

I'm referring to the fans yelling it out on every damn tee shot, before the golfer even finishes his follow through....and the hole is 500+ yards away

Seems 'bout as normal to me as yelling at the drivers during a Nascar race as they go by.....I blame that on the beer though

I don't even yell at them when I miss.....

But they make great targets for 22s from 15 yards (15 to 25 w/ pistols and iron sights, or 50 yards wtih a rifle and irons) to 150 yards (22 rifle or single shot pistol off a bench with BIG scopes)

Well then....I think I'll head over to Sedgefield Country Club tomorrow morning....if I don't make the evening news, it'll be due to the eclipse coverage

There is an adapter for a AR15 muzzle device that lets you launch golf balls using blanks.

I'm looking for one for my FN-FAL build.... may be able to modify a G1 muzzle device if I can find a spare cheap enough...

Launch the ball with the FAL, when it lands, shoot it with the 22 or AR15

My yard backs up to a private golf club. I hear yelling from the players all weekend long.
F-bombs dropping all the time.

Yeah, I kinda understand a player yelling ....

It's the fan(s) yelling "GET IN THE HOLE" on every tee shot...I don't get it???

Well then it's the fans yelling at the players' balls. And many spectators drink as well.
It's all par for the course.

One of my friends just bought a house right next to the Tee box on a long par 4 with water down the right side.
He was bragging about the sound of birds on the back patio as he was drinking his morning coffee.
I said, "Go out there for Lunch on Saturday and tell me what sounds you hear..."

And I almost never see someone using the swimming pool that backs up to the course.
It looks impressive though

My sister in law lives in Calgary right next to the womens' tee box of a private golf club. The men's tee box is fifty yards behind so an occasional errant golf ball lands in their yard. About once a year a ball hits one of their windows. When that happens her man phones up the pro shop and complains about the broken window. A window repair guy is sent over to fix the window. How is this covered? Each club member pays insurance to the golf club each year.

I used to drive by an in town golf course on my way home from work. Once in my Vette a golf ball hit the windshield when I was dong about 45 mph. That ball launched like I could not believe with great lift toward oncoming traffic. No injury to the car. Another time I was in a rental car and got a dent in the hood. They didnt notice when I turned it in....

Some of you who follow pro golf can probably answer this... I remember a decade or so ago, there would often be a jerk or two yelling, "You da mannn!" just after the golfer made contact at many shots (usually the tee shots IIRC).

And the golfers (as well as most fans) were justifiably ticked about it.

Is that ever still happening, and if not, how was it handled/eliminated? By tossing these idiots out?
