Anybody go home for lunch?

Why haven't I been doing this for the last 20 years ? I live 7 miles from work.
I had recently noticed that I have not eaten a sandwich uninterrupted in a long , long time now .
I love it ! Come home, let the dog out, eat last nights dinner, and get an honest 20 minutes to be alone with my own thoughts, then back to work, with a fresh head
Ive been doing this for the last 3 weeks now. I am probably eating a lot healthier also. Ive sustained myself on a diet of stop and go hot dogs, hot lamp pizza, and convenience store salads for the last 20 years.

I used to when I lived in Vancouver. It was a good experience.

Now I just need to get out of the office at lunch time so I wind up eating in restaurants or grabbing a sub and coming back to the office and working through lunch so I can jet early.

Yep. Most days. I work 3 miles from home so the break from the office is a tonic especially as I am fortunate to live right by the beach and my kitchen view is the pacific ocean. I can also be careful about what I eat which once you hit 50 is a important.

I've been lucky enough to do this in a few different places we lived over the years. DC traffic and distance prevent it now.

It was great. Money saving, eating left overs, TV, get the hell away from work.

And sometimes a little something else if the old lady was home

I'm about 12 miles from home, with alot of traffic in between, and only usually 1/2 for lunch. I bring my own leftovers, or a frozen meal, or sandwich, and a pop from home, and can eat it either in the break room, or at my desk at my leasure.

I am working from home today, so lunch will be at home.

I live 22.5 miles from work so that's about a half hour drive. The times I went home for lunch, I stayed and worked at home the rest of the day...

I work from home, so yes; every day. I loved eating leftovers and reading the news while I eat alone in silence.

Yea, about 4 days a week I walk all the way to the kitchen and warm up leftovers or make a sandwich if the leftovers have already left the refrigerator.

I don't even put on my shoes, just shorts and a t-shirt. The commute of 12 steps down the hall in the morning is even better. Sometimes out two dachshunds get in the way so there is a traffic jam but I just step over them.

I usually meet a friend for lunch at various restaurants on Tuesdays for a change of pace.

Which is a good thing, as I was getting tired of having to climb out a window at a moment's notice...

Most days. Or my wife will go home and bring back something, if we're expecting a delivery.

My commute is 1.5 miles, most of that is snaking through my neighborhood to get to the exit.

Working, teaching, taking classes -3 13 hour work/school days. Ive gotten into the habit lately of driving my car to waaay out there parking, parking in the shade of an old oak, and taking a 20 minute nap. Get back to desk and I can go another 8 hours.

Don't need to. Home is 120 steps away, up and across the street. If we're not going to go out to pick up takeout to eat, my wife and I bring something from home in the morning, and prepare it in the office's kitchenette (fridge, toaster oven, and microwave).
