Toby

still living in SoCal, just moved to a townhouse two months ago, PA next Summer. I hope to spend winter and summer in SoCal and Spring and Fall in PA, and be a PA resident for state income tax purposes.

When Donna pulled into the ER, I was completely out of it and sweating and cold and clammy and she said my eyes had rolled up in my head. I got lucky, they had me in a gurney and were stuffing a tube down my throat and sticking needs and monitors on/in me within a minute. I honestly thought I was doing the Big Checkout.

Hugh, glad to hear everything is okay. Was that your first time taking Lisinopril? I have borderline HBP, and my doc has me taking Lisinopril as well for maintenance. Been using it for 3-4 yrs now with never a problem. Scary stuff! Don't worry us like that...

First time taking it. The Docs said never take that or its derivatives ever again in my life. My wife takes it with no side effects.

Just now saw this. Hugh, glad you are on the mend. There are a few more rattle snakes that need to be made into belts with your name on them. You ain't going anywhere yet mister!

I saw the RIP Hugh and was super concerned! Now I see that YOU actually were in danger! Get well soon! We need your moderating influence with the lack of moderators around here...

Lisinopril, wow. Bet the doc or pharmacist didn't warn you this sort of reaction was possible.

I live my life by my Opa's example.

He loved wine and cigars.

Every year he went to vineyards around Stuttgart and Southern Germany and sampled the wines.

What he liked he bought by the cases.

Every day he went down to his wine cellar, selected a bottle, brought it to his study and had a glass with a choice stoggie. The rest of the bottle ended up on the dinner table.

One year during his annual physical the doc said, "you need to lay of the wine and cigars or you'll be dead in a year."

So he asked, "what happens if I do as you recommend?" The doc told him he'd see at least another 2 years, possibly more.

So Opa tried it. After a few months he was just miserable and decided he'd rather live another year happy than 2, 3, 4, more in misery.

Couple of months later he slipped in the shower, hit his head, was dead two days later.

He never made it the year and the wine and cigars had nothing to do with it.

At some point it's about living life, not prolonging death.

Worst part, when he bought wine by the case, none of it had a label. He was the only one who knew what was where in the cellar.

We'd go down, grab a bottle and it would be awesome so we'd go to get another and not have any idea what it was and how to find another.

Took us 15 years to finally polish off his collection.

Miss him, he knew how to live life.
