Random news over- hype thread
This will go straight to parf, or fall off the thread-o-meter, however, I don't care. I, as curmudgeon, am sick and tired of news over-drama.
Everything is an "Alert" Everything is "newsflash" Even- the weather. In my zip- there will be a snow event- perhaps including flurries. Thank God I stocked up! Earlier in the week I was supposed to be on "ALERT" because a royal couple went to Christmas mass. WTF? God Bless you George Carlin.

In Illinois, the tornado sirens sound when a tornado is headed your way. It is a warning, under no uncertain terms, to seek shelter now.
When I lived in Georgia, they'd sound the sirens to warn of thunderstorms, ice, rain, snow, or the temperature getting below freezing.

We got about 6" of snow. That's pretty manageable. It's the -5º this morning that sucks.

Yeah, I don't mind some snow but the bitter cold sucks. It was about that cold here and a wind chill at -25*.

In So Cal the news stations have special 1 hour shows called STORM WATCH 2017 ..... and we only get a tenth of an inch of rain.
