Yeah, we have a lot of resources and good people with good ideas. A competitive nature doesn't hurt either.

Most of the scientists and engineers that got those rovers there mostly used the Metric system to do it. Not every American convention is the best.

I doubt that. Only because I worked my entire career in aviation, and Imperial Standard is still the world-wide standard for aviation, not metric. Every European, Canadian, and Asian aerospace company I ever dealt with uses Imperial Standard. These are the companies building those rovers and the rockets to get them there, so I suspect Imperial Standard is used there as well. Maybe we have a real rocket scientist who can tell us.
