There is your solution break up the Global economy and in 20 years the US will be alright. Maybe not as rich as it once was but comfortable.

Now there isn't a fker out there who wants to hear that. But the alternative is the Global collapse of the mountains of debt that has been built. When it collapses it will make the European Dark Ages look like a stroll down Picidilly Circus on a warm summers evening.

You folks can't even comprehend it. I talked to a 92 year old ww2 vet on Friday about this stuff and he agreed with me. He saw the Depression.and the deaths during the war. His comment was people today don't get it.

I have always had more grivatas than my age would suggest. Even when I was a teen ager the old guys would say he makes a lot of sense. I have always liked talking to the older people even as a youngster. I would listen to their stories about their lives and recollections of how it was for them. You get a feel for their mindsets which makes the revisionist historians superimposing today's sensibilities on their time a joke.

You people think you know something but your range of knowledge is so immediately short as to be myopic. What you.dont realize is the vast sea of time and space and how everything is interconnected.

Spoken as if the US has no investments in Europe or elsewhere to protect.
All Y'all gubmints did nothing out of altruism or for free.

It's all based on ROI
and the expectation that all economies must grown to be succesful.

If we go down, you go down.
And vice versa, to a lesser extent..

Y'all bankers created the 2008 crash, and it hit you guys pretty hard.
we felt some residual shockwaves..Some of our banks took a hit, but the EU propped it up.
We did not have wide spread mortage problems or unemployment.. some , but not so bad like the US had it. We did not have entire big cities run empty like Detroit.
We don't have entire communities that got wiped out
Nor do we have people living out of their cars under high way overpasses.
Our slightly more social (i'm sure you'll read that as socialist/commie)system had a bit more room to cover up some of those difficulties.

But ok, if Europe goes down
What will all those US companies do , with stock holders that expect to see growth in the business numbers?
Grow within the US economie and not outside it?
They already did that in the 80ies and 90ies and hit the limits .. they need to expand outwards.

Again, if we go down
you go down.

Well! I just told my wife I'm headed to the liquor store, then I'm gonna go find the local "'pharmacist" and grab some herb, then I'm off to the whorehouse!
I told her I didn't want to be blamed for not doing my part to keep America on the right track.

"It is all based upon ROI and the expectation that the economy must grow"

How high is the sky?

The facts of life are that to keep the growth going the banks had to lend money to my dog so she could buy stuff the economy produced. In other words the banks had to extend dubious credit because the US consumer was tapped out by the early 2000's. In 2008 it ALL blew up and it has never been the same since.

What the FED and other Central Banks have done is print a sea of Money largely to buy debt in order to provide liquidity so the system doesn't seize up. Governments create debt so that they can fund their spending which stimulates the economy. And still you have sub par growth because you can not change the fact that there is NO MORE American MC. They have gone the way of the Dodo...they are extinct. But nobody wants to say or admit it so we have fake news.

Your lifestyle is all based upon smoke and mirrors brought to you by government DEBT. Even if you have a net worth of Billions the way the government debt and FED's printing press has fixed it you are wiped clean. The accrued debt dwarfs everything. The failure will be systemic, which means there is NO coming back from it like before.

You will have to rebuild after an indeterminant time of chaos. Don't believe me read your GD history books. It is all right there laid out in black and white.

You are preeching to the choir tabs, i was telling y'all on this forum in 2004 that the whole thing has to come down.. it did in 2008
and in 2008 i was saying we were going to get the yoyo and it will get worse in the medium time span.

All i'm saying : y'all have more to loose then we do..
the us is the most capitalist country in the world, the american dream has higher excessive wealth then Europe does. the average middle class is wealthier then in Europe.

So if we take a licking, we will feel it, but you bet that the US will feel it at least as bad.
It's like marriage , you can decide to stop working on the marriage and gtfo, but by the time the lawers and the bank have had their share, be both will be worse for wear.

Meanwhile China is buying up Africa & Sout America's resources, and Trump is smooth talking when president Xi is solidifying his power.

In 1980 I saw it would come to a bad end..

I saw Congress continue to spend like a drunken Cabmando in a whore house in Juarez even though the US was in the midst of a recession. There was no moderation, just biz as usual. That continuing mindset has continued to play itself out...even with that supposed smart guy BO. So much for him.

China is largely reacting to their perceived future failure of the USA. They have seen it coming since 09 and are trying to mitigate the damage to themselves as quickly as they can. To that end they are expanding their influence.

Puttie is doing something a bit different, he is rebuilding the stature and glory of the Russian empire. He takes advantage whenever he smells weakness ..just like a Great White.

America does not have more wealth...it only seems so because the debt is financing our lifestyle increasingly so since 1968.

The rest of the developed world has followed right along...put that Latte on the card please.

Just like in the Walking Dead...

Put the top down, buy me a bottle of Jack and hit the road at 110 in the 59 Caddy.

And not quite net zero.

We haven't had a recession since 09. We are due for one. But like all of them, we will recover over the long term.

Poor tabs will end up departing the mortal world as a bitter, angry man because he didn’t get to see the global meltdown, depression and reversion of western culture to the “good old days” of the Dark Ages (pre-Renaissance where everyone lived in perpetual squalor and only had any hope provided via self-serving religious establishments selling them the myth of a happy afterlife if they just shut up and stay in line) that he has been pining for and so giddy about the prospect of happening since... well... forever.

Maybe a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula with lots of people left burned, homeless, suffering and dying horribly from radiation poisoning will make him happy. That’s a far more likely scenario anyway. For one I really, really not ever want to see it. I’d love to see us on a more sustainable financial path but I certainly don’t belief enough our destiny is necessarily one of Weimar Republic style collapse... yet.

What we really need is for the whack jobs that want to go out in a blaze of glory to go to the local drug dealer's convention with a bunch of guns instead of schools.
