G'day!

Happy Daylight Savings Time!
Interesting article and looks like this may be the last year for it.
I enjoy having more daylight hours after traditional end of day. I own my own business and don't have 'regular' business hours per se, but since my suppliers do, that in effect regulates much of my scheduling. Nice to have an evening 'go out' at the end of my street when there are waves. ![]()

Hey Baz,
Dogs don’t care what time it is when you walk them! I have an atomic clock that automatically adjusts for DST, but here’s the kicker; about a day later it goes back and I have to manually set it- annoying. I would be fine with an adjusted time that gives more daylight in the afternoon during the winter. Right now I go in the dark and get home just before it gets dark. Best, Rutager

I hate DLST.
Split the difference and go .5 hours ahead and leave it there....

Going for a drive. More snow on the way, but I definitely need to get out more.

I'm jealous that FL passed the bill to do away with it. It's not a done deal yet, but it looks promising. Maybe you won't have to switch back in Nov.
Now we just need TX to get off it's ass.

My dogs LOVE Daylight Savings Time, especially the first day. They get to eat one hour earlier on the "tummy time" clock. They really hate when DST goes away.
I know the popular thing to do is complain abut the change. I suspect most of that is people that think change is a bad four letter word. Personally I understand the motive and concept of the change in time is to move the average persons hours of activity to the daylight hours. I love being able to go wash the car at 9:00 PM and still have daylight. I just don;t have a problem changing the time and I like having my active hours mostly in daylight.

I believe what most US locations have done is to settle on "daylight savings time" being permanent. It's already 8 months out of the year already (Mar - Nov).

Kind of sucks in the winter in northern climes.
If it was DLST in December our sunrise would be at 9:30am...

This is my first DLST change, neither Hi or Az have it. Seems weird to me. Nice to hear that some get something good from it.

I like it. Otherwise it's hard to sleep at 6am and the sun is up already.

Every year people complain and every year there's noise about cancelling it, and IT NEVER HAPPPENS... There's as much traction as as with gun issues....

I saw a twitter post or something that said we should move it from Saturday night to Monday mid day, poof!! An hour of your work day (or school day) disappears.
I hope Florida passes it, adjusts 0.5 hour and we are done with it. I hate the adjustment period. It was brutal this morning. My alarm goes off at 05:45.

Just pick a time and make it so! It's bad enough going east - west....If I have to adjust for FL time being off...I'm a goner...but it'll be a hoot for the airlines
![]() I used to value my extra hour in the evening....now it doesn't matter, and I actually prefer to get started outside early...hate waiting for the sun to come up. |

Problem w/ DST all year is that sunrise would not be until 8:30 AM or so in the winter here...
That would feel like Alaska, almost. |
