In that case, I'd like to see courts reaffirm the power of waivers and make people take some responsibility for things they sign. Don't like it? Don't sign, turn around and go home. But to not read it, sign it and just assume it means nothing because there's always a lawyer out there willing to take your case is, well, it's what's wrong with this country. People need to be held accountable.

Where did I say he deliberately aimed for the sandbag, could you point that out for me?

Read his post wreck statement and tell me again there is no way he did this on purpose.

The guy might have a better case on the sandbag if he had not ridden by it all morning and 9 times in the afternoon. He also would have a stronger case if there were not big ruts in the run off area that are going to dump his ass if the sandbag is not there.

This!

He was there only to have fun, like every other track day participant. He just wants a big payday even if it ruins for everyone else that wants to go play at the track.

To me the big screw-up was letting him ride after missing the drivers meeting.

flipper35 04-04-2018 11:09 AM

Another note, how does he think a gyro-stabilized vehicle would have saved him in that instance?

It wouldn't, but he needs to plug his worthless product at every opportunity.

Tobra 04-04-2018 12:13 PM

Yeah, can't believe they let him on track after blowing off the driver's meeting. First day running the company mistake.

You have implied I said a number of things I didn't in this thread, sort of poor form, wouldn't you agree?

solid point!!

Tobra 04-04-2018 03:54 PM

Peter, WTF are you talking about, any idea at all?

wayner 04-05-2018 12:20 PM

I hope this lawsuit doesn't ruin it for us all

Certain race organizations have refused to go to certain tracks because they look out for the safety of their competitors

some clubs take more precautions than other regarding safety.

I think it is worthwhile before signing up for an event to recognize with organizations are more fly by night and which ones are high quality (providing ambulances and other safety measures) vs just renting attack and letting people go.

I dont know enough about this event, organizer or incident to comment on it but it is one reason I chose to lap with PCA and not some other club where I might be more likely to be taken out by another competitor.

Buyer beware, and beware before signing a waver and paying, not after.

From what I've seen of these track days, I would be less worried about the track facilities and more worried about the other idiots they let out there with you...

Racing is far, far safer than track days. I've been to a Ducati track day at Autoclub Speedway where I was able to get 4, yes 4, at-speed laps the entire day. It was a $hit show red flag event.

I thought that all motorcycles are "gyro-stabilized" already. They have the front & rear wheels spinning, which resist a change in direction. Barring any chassis issues which can cause a precession (like a tank-slapper), a motorcycle is already inherently stable due to this.

flipper35 04-05-2018 03:01 PM

Its the rider that makes them unstable. Sometimes the bike will throw the rider and go its merry way. Bikes are like horses that way. :)

Also, scattered construction equipment like bulldozers and excavators just a few inches off the track.
Riders know they are there. Would you think that is negligent? Or is the track ready for use?

come on shug, what's your deal with dump trucks and being completely ridicules ?

indeed. when racing I was around the same drivers every event and we knew each other both on & off track good & bad. I sold the spec car in 2015 I have yet to go back to tracking either of the 911's ive owned since because it's too much of an unpredictable clown show. you can tell by simply walking through the paddock at times.

im more fond of the jeep hobby now. there's still clowns, but WE are moving much slower.
