The best way to clean the chain is to use "Missing Links" so they can be removed. I use an ultrasonic tank with de-greasing solution. Drop them in, walk away and then rinse with Chemtool B12. When we road 150+ miles a week, I did this weekly, unless it rained, then every time after rain.

This was when my mountain bike was my daily driver in Oregon. It might not be the best way, but it was convenient enough to do it every day, and might be easier when traveling.

Made it to the Daughter, SIL, and grandsons house in East Stroudsburg, PA;2,855 miles from my place in Los Angeles. 14 days on the road 9-10 MPG. Will look into getting a small space heater before getting on the road in two weeks or so.

Not full timing in the RV,only about two months including getting back to Cali.

Your Daughter has a beautiful place, you'll regret leaving.

Stop by and visit Peter Dawe's shop, he's right there in East Stroudsburg. The best Porsche engine builder on the East Coast.

Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, they bought it and the adjacent for a total of 20 acres. About a 10,000 sq. Ft. House. About what I paid for my 1,900 sq.ft. Townhouse just north of Los Angeles!

Latest, going to Manhattan for a day or two, daughter is due with grandson #3 in a week or so. So we’ll be in and out of NYC a few times over the next month, or so. Planning a rental car trip to Gettysburg and other local points of interest.

Spoke with Seahawk today and we may well park the RV at his crib in MD over the Memorial Day weekend. After that, headed down towards NC, SC GA, don’t know....

It certainly is. Glad you made the visit.

Keep the updates coming! Will you be taking I-40 through Knoxville then I-81 north? If so, you'll go through Bristol, my hometown.

I grew up in Boston but spent High School in Oak Ridge, TN if we take the route from Wilmington through Asheville, I’ll certainly let you know. I used to regularly run from Camp LeJeune,NC to Oak Ridge,TN when in the USMC 45+ years ago.

That's beautiful Hugh! You should rethink the tax thing and move there!

Hugh R 04-25-2018 05:43 PM

Shaun, don’t think I haven’t thought about it. My step MIL lives in Cambridgeport Cambridge/Boston) in the top 1/2 of a 100 year old house she paid $500K for 15 years ago and no off street parking.

Shaun @ Tru6 04-25-2018 05:47 PM

would love to have you visit now and again. :)

Welcome to the east coast. Thanks for bringing spring with you.

tevake 04-26-2018 08:26 AM

^ Thats what I was thinking. Hugh shows up bringing that famous great SoCal weather with him.

It's amazing the difference of property values in different parts of the country.
Plenty of room to park the big A$$ RV there in the drive. Are you staying aboard while there?

This may be too far west for your trip south, but well worth considering, an amazing drive and complete contrast to the congestion of the coast.

Also lots of nice corps of engineers parks in the south eastern states, worth checking out as you travel south.

Cheers Richard
