Boycott Starbucks!

Not because of anything they did, but because their coffee sucks!

Burnt, over-roasted, over-priced, over-hyped brown liquid!

Just like beer, with 50+ IBUs, they overdid it on the coffee.

On the beer side, there is a trend to pilsners and lagers now. On coffee it is coming too, I saw a 'blonde' espresso roast advertised at Starbucks. I tried it. It is very dark blonde. but nevertheless, it was better than their usual charcoal.

I feed my espresso machine Lavazza Gran Crema Medium Roast. It is liquid gold.

Starbuck's superpower is that they are EVERYWHERE.

on a road trip, you can stay fully caffeinated on starbucks easily. i go the cheap route and get it from McDonalds..it's a buck. weaker, but not charred tasting.

i just gave away my Starbucks gift card..got it Christmas. even the food is crazy expensive.

FYI - if you bring your own travel mug at In N Out, they will refill it for free with any meal.

Amen to that. If you get the regular coffee it tastes like it was steeped with charcoal briquets. If they put enough crap in it to make it drinkable it has 300 billion calories. OK, not that many, I think it is around 400/450 calories. I can eat a lot of good stuff for 400 calories.

They aren't sugary drinks, they are HFCS with some flavor and additional liquid added.

Agreed, Pike Place sucks! The Blonde is decent, but I prefer most fast food and gas station coffee to Starbucks.

I hope I don't upset any Italians but Espresso coffee is over rated IMO.

Drip filter or plunge is much better.

I can't drink normal Starbucks coffee - it's tremendously over-roasted and an 8 oz. cup will wire me high as a kite for hours, which is really unpleasant. If I find it worthwhile to stop there, I'll order whatever a cafe con leche translates to in Starbucks-speak. But I have to give them lots of credit for bringing non-****ty coffee to the US in the 90s. Otherwise it would all be diner coffee. I do find some of the specialty coffees they have to be fine, though I rarely try them. but if I'm in the middle of nowhere and want decent coffee, I can rely on finding a Starbucks. I just don't order plain coffee.

At the 2006 Porsche parade in Portland, Oregon, Starbucks was a sponsor. They hosted the coffee at the hospitality suite. On the first morning I wandered in, got a cup of coffee and had to use all my restraint to not do a spit take right on the carpet. I looked for the trash can and promptly threw away the paper cup. That trash can was almost full of coffee cups that were mostly full. The hotel room had a sign in my room, "proudly serving Starbucks coffee. I ate a sweet roll just to get the nasty taste of Starbucks out of my mouth.

I drove to the Burger King a few blocks away to get some coffee I could drink. That stuff is vile. I have been boycotting Starbucks ever since. I also boycott every vegan restaurant in town, and all the raw food only places. I will boycott any place with bad food or drink.

I'm quite the coffee snob (Kona & Kauai most every day) and I generally avoid the tar place, But they do sell coffee so... You know, sometimes you need coffee.
