Please, Please, Please, Toyota...
Please take a trip to Italy and stop by one of the styling houses. Better yet - HIRE Them!
Toyota has veered so far of the tracks of tasteful design that they have sunk into the depths of the Pontiac Aztek. Honda's new Civic isn't much better... The 2019 Rav4http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1525046405.jpg |
They’re just trying to make it easier for LEGO to duplicate it in a kit.
|
Has anyone ever bought a Toyota for its looks?

I saw one of these on the road the other day and nearly vomited. Taking styling cues from Nissan, who fell off the wagon a few years ago. They are in a race to the styling bottom.
|
ill tolerate jap styling if it helps me avoid Italian 'quality' and 'engineering'
|
Subaru needs to layoff all their current designers too. Anything after ~2009 has been looking more and more like every other econobox on the road.

tokyo
saw this one at the toyota show in odaiba:

The Rav looks just like the newer Lexus model.. hmmmmm, coincidence?
|
I have the 2017 Civic touring coupe & I think it looks good. Don't much like the 4 doors though.
Do this, if you squint your eyes whilst looking at the Civic Coupe, you'll be looking at the new Acura NSX.... |
Let me help. You SOBs are OLD. They are trying to appeal to the Transformer generation, not guys like us who use weird words like 'Pininfarina'.
|
Pininfarina and some of the other Italian design houses have penned cars for Mazda, Subaru, Isuzu, Hyundai and many others (I always liked the Isuzu Impulse). They were attractive yet conservative designs and most people had no idea they were designed in Italy. I wish the Japanese would revisit them and stop trying to make some sort of statement.
|
They all eventually grow on me. But I’m not old. :D

But it does look like sjiiiit. |
The kids are going to love these cars?
Aren't most manufacturers trying to appeal to people who have no interest in driving cars? I forget which group (millenials?) aren't bothering to learn how to drive. The number of driver aids is getting insane. Get rid of all of them, so you have to focus on the road, not your phone. |

Way better than the "less is more" crapola of the 90's.
|
I think I'd rather have the styling that Toyota has gone with over this.
