Engine swap? Want to wow 'em at the next cruise in?

How about a LS v-12? For high rollers only, I'm afraid.

That takes a lot of cooling capacity, bet the gas tank has to be a little bigger too.

I wonder if that fits in a Duce Coupe?

I bet there are more Chevy powered 32 Fords than Ford powered ones.

Aye, there's the rub. I quit going to cruise ins because of "Sigh, yet another 350/350."

This^ - so much this! I saw a rare Hupmobile a while back; looked like a decent car, but what was under the hood? SBC and chrome bukkake.

Considering you can make the same power for in the neighborhood of $10k, that seems like a ripoff. But bonus points for creativity.

Agreed. The 350/350 is a cliche.

Do something cool like a blown two stroke diesel. Put that in a deuce coupe and I would applaud.

It's just assembly, not custom what they do.

And then you get a car that sounds like this : lumpy idle that sounds like it's going to stall on you..at the first chance it gets.

it has torque, i'm sure.. you can do burnouts with it.. woop ti doo..
I really don't get it... what is the appeal to spend that much money for such a limited and imho poor result

Taking a moment to familiarize yourself with Katech might change your mind. I'd wager that this car starts reliably, idles in traffic with A/C running and hauls the mail in a straight line and around corners. If you don't like the sound, they have more tame alternatives--or more wild yet.

Katech supplied/supplies engines to the C5, 6 and 7 factory Corvette endurance race efforts...their engines have powered class competitive and dominant cars for a long time. However, the company recently sold.

Just why?

Other than, “because they could...”

I agree 100%.

And they all put GIANT tires on em, and "slam it to the weeds" I don't get it either. I bet that in 20 years the hot rod places will all be restoring the wheels to a normal size and raising the car up to get it derivable on city streets. Assuming we are still allowed to drive cars manually.

I believe that the good custom rides have gas or hydraulic systems to adjust the ride height down for parking lot pictures compared to street driving..

With what V12 engine would you do this?

Jaguar V12 from the early 90's?

BMW?

Could they really do it for $10K with a standalone V12 design ready to swap in?
