Help on color code - 993 Artic Silver
Hello
I took my 993 (Arctic silver) to the paint shop to repair front bumper. After introducing the color code of the car on SPIES HECKER computer, it shows 5 alternative variations. The man on the shop choose the first one on the list but the the color end up a bit different from the original. Is there any other code on the car that could help finding the right one?

a color variant (alternate) is not uncommon at all . you don't need an other color code you have to match the variant or alternate color to your car . if you were at a shop that uses glasurit you would take the 5 alternnate color max chips out to the car and see which one looks best and use that color formula to mix the paint for the car . glasurits color max system offers spray out of there paints on just what they look like when they are sprayed . they are the only paint co. that offers real spray outs of there colors . so at this point the shop you are using should do the spray outs of the 5 variants of the color code # 92U for you or you should find a glasurit shop . if your thinking that having variants on a color is a bad thing think again . its a good thing ! you see colors change from day to day when there are being sprayed . things like out side air pressure , humidity and so on will all change a color just a little . there are also other factors involved like say you have a 911 and its getting painted in one plant but the boxter that is getting painted is in a hole other plant 100 miles away they may have the same color code of 92U but in no way are they getting painted from the same batch of paint so one car may be a shade off . also age has allot to do with the shade of a cars color . a car that is in the sun every day for most of its life will not be the same shade as a car that is only out of its garage once a week for a joy ride .

962porsche, Thank you very much for your wise explanation!
I will proceed as recommended. I think that in between the five shadows available, I will find the right one. Thanks!
