Good Morning Old 924,
You should first condition the bare spots with a good metal conditioner to eliminate any surface rust. Then apply a quality epoxy primer (use the same brand as your finish coatings to avoid compatibility problems) for long term rust protection. Then you can prime and do your body work over that. Looking at the amount of paint you have already removed, if it were me I think would take it all the way down to metal just to make sure there isn't any hidden damage or rust. It looks like a fun project. What are your plans for the car? Period correct restoration? 924 GT? Keep posting pics. |

I have a complete Euro bumper setup, front and rear, with lights (although one of the lenses is cracked). $450 firm, including the brackets.

I'm not familiar with how the spolier attaches to the body. I would think they are some how bolted to the body not just glued on. That being said 924/44 hatches and spoliers are redily available it may be easir for you to just swap out the entire hatch with a spolier already attached?

I know of two 944 with spoilers in a U-pull-it yard near me. Prices are reasonable. I'm thinking I can get a hatch for your with spolier for under $50.00. Shipping is another issue. If you are interetsed I cantake a look at the condition of the spoliers? Maybe just take a spolier and modify your existing hatch?

The 944 spoilers are bolted on with many special bolts/screws - To mount a 944 spoiler on a 924 hatch you would need to drill the glass in places. If that was not bad enough to drill all of those holes without a good reference to start from (Very hard to mark the spots) is at best difficult, and they have to be right on.
Yes get a 944 hatch - so much easier...
