Paint Matching Question

1977 911S "white" looks to be original paint. How do I go about finding the paint code? Where do I find sticker on car which gives code? It may be missing and how would you get paint codes for that year with no stciker on car?
Regards, Tom

Should be by the drivers door hinge.
If it is gone then a really good painter can match it.
You could contact Porsche with the serial number, they might be able to tell you.
Post your question in the main tech forum, color questions are asked there all the time.

a good paint shop will have a scanner that will match it in any brand.

color eyes or color camera's are only 70 % accurate .
if you want to know the color code and it's missing from the car you can just call your porsche dealer with the vin # and they will have it there .
if the car was repainted with a color change you then can use a color camera but there is a good bet you will still have to tint the color to get a dead nuts match .
your other option is to go to a glasurit jobber and look at the color max chips . they are real spray out done by BASF glasurit so what you pick is just what you will get .
