Replacing engine bay insulation

Hi All,

The insulation in the engine bay of my 89 Carrera is falling down. Do I need to remove the engine to replace/repair it? Any tricks to getting it done with out dropping the engine?

I pulled mine out without removing the engine. It gets tricky, so I removed airbox and a couple things in the way. The OE mat Pelican sells is much lighter and slides in easily. Almost no glue needed.
