You could waste a week watching penetrating oil videos on you-tube. You'd be smart to not do that IMOP.

Have tried most every one available over the years, and even mixed up the acetone/ATF brew. In my opinion NOTHING beats KROIL, period!

Thrust Ion Activated, PB Blaster, Kroil. Not necessarily in this order. Happy with all.

Saw several of these "tests" on youtube, however I put more stock in my
personal experience. I have used virtually all the brands they tested,
including the "miracle" solution of ATF/acetone, and I know which one I reach for when I need the job done and it's Kroil. Discussions about which is the best remind me of the oil/ZDDP brouhahas, mostly anecdotal and personal preference.

At least for penetrating oil one gets quick feedback on whether it solved the problem or not. However, proper testing of engine oil would need a "clinical trial" to analyse the lives of many engines over hundreds of thousands of miles.

I find PROJECT FARM on YouTube to be fairly methodical and honest in their comparisons and reviews. They do not accept advertising or sponsorship for any of the products they review. Good comparisons of oils, penetrating oils, additives, etc.

"for me" was key in Ivans statement. people are going to use what has worked for them and these comparisons really don't do much. I would never use anything other than my 3 in 1 penetrant as it has gotten me out of more "jambs" than I can count. I don't care what a study or survey says. I think that is the thinking of many of us . Nothing wrong with that .

When I was an F15 jet engine mechanic, the workbooks said to use Kroil.

Never thought much about the stuff, but there’s probably something to it if the engineers say to only use that stuff.
