![]() ![]() I have an older 911 short block out in my barn with "628xxxxx" for the first three digits. Is this a 911E designation? Or is this too early for the T, E, S models? Len ![]() |

Len,
Are you sure it's not 629? 628 should belong to a 78 SC engine. '69 used the 629 start, but earlier engines, like 1968 would have used the previous system starting with a 2,3, or 4. What's the type number? Should be right below the serial number on the case.

![]() ![]() Thanks Matt, it is type 930/04 so its a 911SC. Forgot Porsche switched the sequence of model numbers. So, the "2" is the model and the "8" is the year. I have a SC long block. Will get photos and post this in the used parts for sale section. Len ![]() Last edited by BoxsterGT; 09-12-2018 at 08:47 AM.. |
