1973 911 not shifting into 4th! Help?

I have a 1973 911e that I just recently changed the clutch cable due to it breaking. While I was at it I decided to adjust the shift coupler due to it being difficult to shift into 3rd. Well I fixed it from being hard to get into 3rd but created another problem. It will not go into 4th at all. It shifts into 1st second and third easily. I have tried many times to follow the instructions to adjust the coupler but I keep coming up with the same problem. I did rebuild the shift cup as well as the coupler bushings several years ago. Could it be the syncros? It wants to go in but if I get it in it will just pop out. Any suggestions as to what I could do next?

If it was going into 4th before you changed the clutch cable, I would say it probably only needs a very small change in the position of the shift coupler.
It can be time consuming trying to get things adjusted just right. I would try a few more times. I found it took me quite a few small changes to get things set right in all the gears.

prob wont go into reverse either. As stated above a simple change to the coupler (move the stick shift a little forward and maybe a bit to the left and tighten down coupler) should do the trick. I would also give the clutch cable a couple turns to make sure clutch is engaging / disengaging correctly.
