Installing Targa Hard Top?
Has anyone installed a Targa hard top onto a Targa that wasn't set up for it?
I have a hard top, but my 1985 Targa doesn't have the openings in the header. Has anyone modified the header to work with the hard top? I believe the modifications are minimal, but I'd like to hear someone else's experience before altering anything. Thanks. LS |

Did my 78 a few years ago. You need the escutcheons, screws, clips for the screws and a window frame that has the cut outs in it. Not sure what year they changed the frame to delete those.

what hard top?
years ago I got one called "spare top". hand made fiberglass. the only mod needed was to drill a hole down through where the front locator pins go. the hard top used screws that went up through the headliner into the top. got it for track use, but sold some time ago when I retired the 85 targa from DE. good luck.
