I recently acquired the inlet box, fan, controls, etc to restore the fresh air ventilation system. There were only scraps of hose attached, however. It appears to be paper with an aluminized inside coating.
The parts manual lists half a dozen different part numbers for all the individual segments of hose, but it appears to be all the same 60mm size. Is there a source for this stuff in bulk? I'd rather get a few extra feet and be able to cut sections as needed. Thanks for any help. -Jon ![]() |

Howdy-
You should be able to get that stuff right from the dealer. I bought some for my Carrera and ordered all the individual hose part numbers for the various sides of the flapper boxes, etc., only to get 3 tubes of the same length, more than enough hose to cut the lengths I needed with a utility knife and have some left over. As I recall it was about $13 a section or so and the tubes were about 18" long each. It appears to be paper with an aluminized inside coating. Yup... -BG

Thanks for the ideas. I found 60mm plastic, wire reinforced hose from McMaster-Carr, but I'm guessing the stiffness and thickness of the stock hose might serve a purpose.
I'll see if our host can get the real stuff... |

I was just thinking about replacing some of my fresh air hoses. The factory stuff becomes brittle over time and tends to tear easily. Would it be better to go with the rubberized hose, like the stuff being sold for heat exchangers? Has anybody tried this? Advantage/disadvantage?

The reddish silicone stuff sold by AircraftSpruce ( SCEET, SCAT, etc) is overkill for dash vents...but it does work at the heat exchangers-to-heater-valve junction near the engine.

Vertex has the factory hose in 50" lengths that can stretch further. $24./piece. To do front air inlet with the hoses including hose from the rocker panels will probably take two lengths. You need some extra for mistakes. I just finished this job in my restoration. The leftover hose can be used in the engine compartment going from fan shroud to heat exchangers.
